Thought, expression and perception


Some people don't express all of what they mean to say in words. And some don't say what they really mean.

y = x would be ideal where you didn't have to derive or interpret or use any perceptive faculties to understand what the other person might intend to convey. The listener's responsibility to ensure correct communication increases with m as less is spoken in the communication - and so a lot depends upon the capability of the listener. A reducing value of m, whether due to the speaker or listener, is probably a waste of time?

Thoughts not intended to be conveyed but which are perceived are not included in the present discussion!

Note in case the above didn't make sense: m stands for how steep the slope is, i.e. which axis the line of communication is more inclined towards.
